Last month thousands of Giants fans joined Sean Chapin in asking asking the Giants to make an It Gets Better video. The baseball team was already planning on making a video, expedited their production and on the first day of LGBT Pride Month became the first professional sports team to tell LGBT youth that "It Gets Better."
Earlier this month, It Gets Better Project founders Dan Savage and Terry Miller were invited to Google to discuss the Project's bestselling book, it's impact, achievements and what's next. Thank you all for being part of this powerful movement and thank you Google & YouTube for providing us with the technology to create the Project.
This week we asked you to meet our goal of donating 1,000 It Gets Better books to schools and libraries. In a matter of hours hundreds of donations came in and now we're proud to report 1,127 books have been donated to date. Check out this nifty map of where your books are headed.
Google has created a series of videos -- this one featuring the It Gets Better Project -- to show how real people like you are using the web to accomplish amazing things -- big, small, fun and serious.
