We’ve Reached the 100,000 Supporter Mark!
Yesterday was a big day. President Obama created his own "It Gets Better" video, filmed at the White House, and added his voice to the thousands of others who have already created videos reaching out to LGBT youth.
We now have over 100,000 public supporters of the project. Will you help us double it?
Watch President Obama's video and share it with your friends:
But what does it all mean? What are we going to do next?
Ultimately this isn't just about videos and pledges. The mission of this project is to inspire kids, assuring them that they're not alone, while reaching out to parents, students and teachers who want to make a difference.
But it's also about demanding change. It's about taking on the bullies as well as the school administrators who enable them, and those parents who bully their own LGBT children. That's what we're doing here, all of us, and we have a lot more to do.
In the coming days we'll be asking you to start joining or even planning public events in your hometowns, on your campuses and in your schools. But first, I want you to take a minute and introduce the project to a few friends. Let's double our size in one day and show the world what we're really doing.
We've come together to tell young LGBT teens that life does get better. Now it's time to tell the world that we're not going hide and we're not going to wait.
One video may be able to save a life -- we know that some of your videos have already done so -- but no single video is going solve this crisis and make our schools safe. No one individual can change the system. It will take the actions of all of us to make it better.
