It Gets Better and Rudy’s Barbershop launch collaborative tee

Rudy's Barbershop is pleased to announce a partnership with the It Gets Better Project, the non-profit organization that has inspired more than 50,000 videos of support and encouragement for LGBT youth. The collaboration includes an exclusive, limited run T-shirt to be sold online at Rudy’s Barbershop and Ace Hotel, with proceeds benefiting the It Gets Better Project. The T-shirt was inspired by artwork done by National Forest, whose creative talent is featured at Rudy’s Main St L.A.

National comic strip takes on gay kids and prom

Now celebrating its 40th anniversary, Funky Winkerbean is taking on its first LGBT-related issue: gay kids attending prom. The storyline launched April 30 and will conclude at the end of May. The storyline has garnered a positive response from the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) and from Stephanie Laffin of the "It Gets Better" Project. Batiuk said GLAAD's response was gratifying and means that he achieved what he set out to achieve.
